Private collection, Serbia This painting presents a stylized landscape using simplified visual forms. Through vivid and pure colors, the artist creates an expressive image reminiscent of modernist art movements. In the foreground, a piece of land is depicted through geometric shapes and a mix of green, brown, and white tones. Lines and color fields convey a sense of movement, illustrating the diversity of textures and forms found in natural landscapes. At the center of the composition lies a bright blue stretch of water, sharply contrasting with the more muted and neutral tones of the mountains and land in the background. Small white boats scattered across the water’s surface add a sense of depth and openness. The mountains in the distance are rendered in warm hues of brown, green, and red, evoking an autumnal atmosphere. Their contours and textures are deliberately simplified — almost abstract — lending the work a distinct character. The use of color fields and contrasts suggests influences from Fauvism or Cubism, where emotional perception and expressive form take precedence over realistic representation. The artist intentionally avoids fine detail, focusing instead on conveying the overall mood and compositional rhythm. The painting evokes a sense of tranquility and harmony, as the vibrant colors interact with one another to create an impression of a joyful yet serene landscape. It can be interpreted as a meditation on nature and its beauty, expressed through the artist’s personal and subjective vision.
